A new name has emerged on Manchester United’s transfer shopping list, with the Red Devils keen on a move for Marseille man, Morgan Sanson.
That’s according to Kickoff, per Le10Sport, who say that Mourinho has identified the midfielder as a potential target when the summer window opens.
Sanson has proven his worth to the Ligue 1 club this term, scoring eleven goals. That’s not what’s most impressive though, it’s his availability; having played 48 times across all competitions.
Mourinho will lose Michael Carrick to retirement this summer, whereas Marouane Fellaini is yet to commit to a new contract, so the midfield area certainly needs working on.
The 23-year-old Frenchman has burst onto the scene recently, and it’s hard not to notice his excellent performances, particularly in the Europa League.
He’s still young, so there is room aplenty for development but I believe he’s shown more than enough to justify Mourinho taking a punt on the midfielder.
I’ve no doubt that he’d be an astute signing for whoever manages to land Sanson. Here’s to hoping that it’s Manchester United who pulls the deal off, but it certainly won’t be a cheap one.
