Manchester United eyeing possible move for £10million rated Celtic man

Manchester United Football Club are having a rather quiet January transfer window, with Jose Mourinho seemingly content with his squad, and you have to say we look quite good right now. However, that hasn’t stopped the board and the coaches potentially eyeing a move for a talented youngster.

According to the Daily Mirror, Manchester United are tracking Celtic’s Kieran Tierney, a teenage left-back who is currently on his way back from a two-month absence following an ankle injury. The £10million rated left-back is being targeted by Jose, and although he’d like to bring him in this month, a move in the summer is more likely.

The young Scot has attracted interest from City, Chelsea and Arsenal as well as Manchester United, and that tells you just how much of a big prospect the left-back is. Tierney played a huge part in Celtic’s 3-3 draw with Manchester City in the Champions League at the back end of last year, and that led to some of Europe’s top clubs keeping an eye on him.

As we all know, left-back is an area in which Manchester United are struggling at this point in time. Luke Shaw isn’t playing for some reason, and that currently leaves both Daley Blind and Matteo Darmian fighting for the starting job in that spot – both of whom aren’t natural in that position in my opinion.

That said, is bringing in a 19-year-old the way to go? It’s always a gamble with a youngster, and you never know if they’ll turn their potential into being a player capable at the highest level.
