Manchester United eyeing summer move for West Ham key player

Manchester United will be trying extremely hard to secure new players behind the scenes, with the club hoping to bring in some fresh faces before the European Championships. The latest name linked with an Old Trafford move is a West Ham centre-half.

According to Tuttosport (via Sport Witness), Manchester United have shown an interest in West Ham’s strong Italian centre-back, Angelo Ogbonna.

The 28-year old is a fairly new arrival at Upton Park, having only been at the club for twelve months since leaving Juventus last summer.

However, he has been very impressive in England, forming an excellent partnership with Winston Reid at the heart of the West Ham defence.

As you’d imagine, West Ham would be reluctant to part with one of their first-team regulars, and Manchester United would have to offer them a decent profit on the €11m they paid to bring him to London.

United don’t really have any leaders in the defensive area of the pitch, and you feel bringing in Ogbonna would certainly help the club out in that regard.
