Liverpool are beating Manchester United in the race to sign Deportivo La Coruna attacker Pinchi according to The Sun.
The 22-year-old is out of contract in the summer and is available for a small compensation fee, with United and Tottenham apparently showing an interest, but Jurgen Klopp has swooped and now the Anfield club are in pole position to land the Spaniard, who has been at Deportivo for the last thirteen years.
In the article, The Sun writes that Jose Mourinho is a fan of Pinchi’s, with the manager believing the winger could play a pivotal role within United’s squad.
From a Red Devils perspective, United’s attacking options are already great and perhaps another body would only confuse things. If Pinchi were to come in, I’d imagine that at least one player would be departing. If I had to guess, I’d look at Juan Mata’s position in the squad but that’s only my view.
Personally, I’d like to see a proven right-winger make the move to Old Trafford in the summer. It’s an area that has given United some problems recently as nobody has been able to lock that position down. Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Alexis Sanchez are all miles better when playing on the left.
