Anthony Martial is a footballer who has already given the Old Trafford faithful some unforgettable moments during his short career as a Red Devil.
From his stunning individual goal on debut against Liverpool, to that FA Cup semi-final winner against Everton, the Frenchman has been brilliant for United.
When news surfaced that United, and Jose Mourinho, were exploring the option of selling the former AS Monaco man in order to move for Gareth Bale, that clearly left some supporters furious.
Before we get into the Twitter reaction, I’d have to say that I’d be amongst those angry fans. Martial is an insanely gifted individual who’s only going to get better. What’d be the point in letting him leave in order to replace him with an injury-prone player who’s best years are probably behind him.
Look, I’m no manager, and I love watching Bale play, but from a business standpoint, and a footballing one too, this deal just doesn’t make sense whatsoever.
Don’t ask me why, but I’ve always felt that Mourinho has never really fully trusted Martial and don’t be surprised if the gaffer is considering parting ways with the Frenchman, but as you’d imagine, the Twitterverse definitely wasn’t happy. Check out the best reactions below:
If United sell Martial (22) for Bale (28 and injury prone), we riot.

If Mourinho sanctions a Martial sale, I’d want him gone instead. I’d prefer keeping Martial than Mourinho. Every day of the week.

Martial out Bale in would be the worst business any club has ever done in the history of football.
But that’s @ManUtd for you.

Mourinho selling Martial and buying 29 year old Bale just tells me that he has no intentions of staying here long term. He's just after short term success and then'll be moving on to his next challenge. Martial doesn't deserve this. #MUFC

Getting rid of Martial for Bale would be a very stupid move by United. Just NO! pic.twitter.com/oRE1PgRwCC

Sacrifice Anthony Martial in order to buy Gareth Bale? Hell, no thanks. That would be madness. #TransferRumours

Silly if we sell MARTIAL to fund bale . I like bale world class on the left wing but half the player on the right constantly cutting in full backs will eventually suss his movement out in the prem. injury prone. Martial is young fast and under attacking manager would thrive

No idea if Mourinho does dare sell Martial. All that is certain is that if he does it's against what United is all about = developing young talent. And it will cause alot of bad feeling in the fan community. Does he really want to take that risk?
