Well, Manchester United made it comfortably into the next round of the Europa League competition, with Jose Mourinho’s men progressing 4-0 on aggregate. The self-proclaimed Special One must be pleased with the professionalism shown by his team on the night, and he’ll be looking forward to the draw on Friday.
However, the game has been marred somewhat by an injury to our man of the moment, Henrikh Mkhitaryan. The Armenian opened the scoring with a lovely little finish on the end of a Juan Mata cross, but shortly after, his match was done.
The 27-year-old came off with what looked like a hamstring injury, and as you’d imagine, Jose Mourinho didn’t look happy on the sidelines. The severity of the issue is yet to be discovered, but with the EFL Cup final against Southampton just four days away, it doesn’t look good.
We’re just guessing here, but the usual for a hamstring injury is at least a couple of weeks out. I guess it depends how quickly he realised he had an issue before Jose decided to bring him off. The fans clearly were gutted about the prospect of their star man missing the Wembley showpiece, and took to Twitter to express their frustrations.

Mkhitaryan off injured. Why play him in a dead tie? Don't get that. Potentially out of EFL final now! ?

Mkhitaryan scores and then gets injured! Looks like a hamstring injury, let's hope it's nothin too serious and he's ok for the cup final! ??
