Well, I think it’s fair to say that we all wanted to see a happy Alexis Sanchez following his first Manchester United Premier League game, but unfortunately, that’s not the case.
Jose Mourinho’s men were well beaten away at Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night, with Sanchez starting and struggling to get involved.
From the get-go, the Red Devils just couldn’t get a foothold in the game, and at times I felt the Chile star was probably trying too hard.
More often than not the former Arsenal man was trying to pull off the difficult pass rather than taking the easy option, and in the one-on-one situation, he was dispossessed far too easily.
Of course, going away to Tottenham and picking up points is never easy, and let’s not forget that this is the first time he’s played alongside Romelu Lukaku and Jesse Lingard. He’s a top player and I’ve no doubt things will improve, but it was a real shame to see such a poor all-round team performance in his first game.
As you’d imagine, the United fans on social media sounded flat about Sanchez and the game as a whole. Check out the best tweets from the match below.
Mourinho should bring on Alexis Sanchez.

The only outfield players I’ll actually defend today are Romelu Lukaku, Antonio Valencia & Alexis Sanchez, at least the tried. We move on, up next: Huddersfield. What are your thoughts?

All the muppets laughing at Alexis Sanchez – the joke’s on you as he’s made £39,241 in that first half…

Sanchez looked as if he were trying too hard at times. It'll come for him sooner rather than later though. Spurs away never easy.

De Gea, Sanchez and Valencia are the only players able to walk off with their heads held high. Poor show from the rest of the lads. Need to bounce back on Saturday. #mufc

#United very poor tonight. Didn’t realise #Matic was playing until he lined up in a wall near the end. #Sanchez looked off the pace too
