Manchester United Football Club returned to winning ways on Tuesday night. Jose Mourinho’s men beat Swansea City 2-0 to book their place in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.
The manager made a whole host of changes for the clash in Wales, with defender Axel Tuanzebe coming into the team for his first start of the season.
At just 19, Tuanzebe showed a maturity beyond his years with a commanding defensive performance. The young man won headers, positioned himself perfectly and was also excellent in possession.
It gives Mourinho another option to rely upon, which is great considering the trouble we’re having with injuries back there.
Although it’s harsh, Tuanzebe already looks far more accomplished than Victor Lindelof in the centre-back role, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the young man from the Democratic Republic of Congo has already leapt in front of the Swede in the pecking order.
Every single time Tuanzebe has been handed a start, he’s always impressed. I feel that we have a real star of the future on our hands, and in my opinion, he deserves far more opportunities than just the odd start in the Carabao Cup.
As you’d imagine, the United fans were buzzing about the performance all over social media.
It's obviously early days for Tuanzebe, but he looks a far superior player when you're comparing him with Lindelof. The kid has talent.

Tuanzebe combines very good technical and tactical ability with wonderful athleticism and pace. A real asset.

Axel Tuanzebe with more passes (36) than any other player on the pitch in the first half with 100% passing accuracy

Great goal all started by Tuanzebe bringing the ball out of defence

Tuanzebe looks like he has bulked up over the summer. So composed on the ball and defensively sound. Deserves more games

Thought Axel Tuanzebe was quality again tonight – has barely put a foot wrong in each of his first-team outings and looks the part.
