Manchester United picked up a routine 3-0 victory against Norwegian side Valerenga this evening, in a fixture that would have made Jose Mourinho happy. The Red Devils barely put a foot wrong, and when Romelu Lukaku was subbed on in the second half, we looked even better.
The big Belgian has seemingly adapted to life at Manchester United seamlessly. He’s been an asset from day one, albeit only pre-season matches. At 24, we’ve picked up a player right before his prime, and it’s an exciting time for us fans.
Against Valerenga, he was his usual, physical self, as he bullied defenders throughout. The performance was capped off with an absolute bullet header direct from a set-piece, and this is something that we simply have to see more of in the Premier League.
What impressed me the most was his all-round game. When we first signed him, all I expected was goals, but he provides so much more. Lukaku’s hold-up play is superb, and everyone was slagging off his first-touch, but thus far, that has been solid.
It seems the Twitterverse also shared my views, and they were also pleased with the former Everton striker.

Cracking header from Lukaku. Hope that threat is carried on into the season. We were absolutely atrocious at corners in the last. #MUFC
