Manchester United Football Club secured a huge result this Sunday, with Jose Mourinho’s men coming from behind to beat Chelsea 2-1.
The game turned when Romelu Lukaku scored his first Red Devils goal against a ‘big six rival’, and his performance as a whole was absolutely wonderful to watch.
Lukaku is growing into his role as a true Manchester United #9. Not only will he score goals, but his all-round game is forever improving.
Today, he held the ball up for his teammates superbly, using his power and physicality to outmuscle Chelsea defenders. Not only that, though, he can show precision and cuteness, with a fantastic ball into Jesse Lingard to complete the turnaround.
It was a mature display from a man who’s best years are ahead of him, and a 22-goal haul in his debut season is an excellent return considering we’re only in February.
Hopefully, his first goal against a top side will further boost his confidence and we’ll see more complete displays from United’s new hero amongst the terraces. I get the feeling this lad isn’t going to stop until he wins the lot, and that only spells good news for the Red Devils.
As you’d imagine, United fans were absolutely buzzing all over social media. We’ve compiled some of the best reactions below:
Massive win for United and to be star of the show in a big game is just reward for Lukaku, who I think has looked great in recent weeks.

Now, bug Romelu Lukaku. His touch, his finishing and his movement were today of a top class CF and a man with loads of confidence, which was the opposite of Morata.Desperately lacking confidence.
But Lukaku's our man and was match winner. We attack n Lukaku plays well Coincidence?— All For United? (@allforunited) February 25, 2018
Tell you what, Lukaku has his faults, but I’d have him ahead of Morata any day. He’s absolute pish.

Seen some brilliant games from Manchester United strikers down the years, but that second-half from Romelu Lukaku was fantastic. He’s improving all the time ?⚪️⚫️

That performance from Lukaku though, it's like he's waited all his life to put in a performance like that. And a performance to remember as well.
