Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United side were largely uninspiring once again this evening, as they lost 2-0 to a Liverpool looking much better under Jurgen Klopp. As you’d expect, the Old Trafford faithful were extremely unhappy afterwards, with Juan Mata in for a lot of stick.
The Spaniard was made captain on the night despite getting sent off in awful fashion at the weekend, and his display this evening was nothing short of woeful.
He lost possession in dangerous areas far too many times, and couldn’t have looked less of a threat in an attacking sense – despite playing in his best position down the centre.
The Manchester United fans took to Twitter to express their displeasure at the likeable Spaniard, and they clearly aren’t happy with what they saw from their £37.1million man at Anfield.
