Manchester United were pummelled 4-1 by a talented Borussia Dortmund team earlier today, with Mourinho suffering his first loss in charge of his new club. Despite many negatives, there were a few positives – one of which was another solid display from new-boy Eric Bailly.
The Ivorian defender was Mourinho’s first signing as United boss, and the 22-year-old could well turn out to be a bargain if he continues to grow and develop.
When on the ball Bailly is so calm and composed it’s brilliant to see. His willingness to bring the ball forward and then pick the right pass is something our defence has been lacking also.
On top of that he has blistering pace, doesn’t shirk a tackle and reads the game excellently. You can see exactly why Mourinho chose to spend big on him to bring Bailly i from Sevilla.
As you’d expect, United fans were buzzing about their new man over social media.
Check out the tweets about Eric Bailly here:
Eric Bailly impressed yet again today, he looks like a leader in my opinion.

Shaw playing the full 90 mins was such a positive sight. He is getting there. Bailly good, Rashford picking up from where he left. #MUTOUR

Really like Bailly, very reliable. The kind of guy you’d bring to Vegas. As for Rojo, I’d feel safer if Ted Bundy was my uber driver.

I dont care if Bailly speaks nothing but ancient Hindou and communicates via carrier Pigeon theres no way Phil Jones should start over him!
