Jose Mourinho always seems to like those centre-back prospects that he likes to work on and help develop. At Chelsea he had Kurt Zouma, before that at Madrid he opted for Raphael Varane. Now, at Manchester United he could’ve just unearthed another gem of a player.
Before this summer, the English Premier League and it’s fans probably hadn’t heard of Eric Bailly when Jose Mourinho spent £30million to bring in the Ivory Coast international. Now, he has began to make a real name for himself.
The 22-year-old started life at the club with a minor piece of silverware in the Community Shield. In that game, he was named Man of the Match. Today, he backed that up with another personal trophy, thanks to another outstanding performance at the heart of Manchester United’s defence.
Bailly was calm, composed and passed the ball out from the back excellently. Also when required, he wasn’t afraid to boot the ball long and clear his lines rather than taking any unnecessary risks.
He has really made a brilliant impression amongst the fans, and they were quick to express that joy all over social media.
