The Old Trafford faithful certainly left the ground feeling much happier this evening, thanks to an excellent 4-1 victory at home to Turkish giants Fenerbahce. On the night, the match was a comfortable one, and it did include a homecoming goal for Robin van Persie, but thankfully it was just a consolation.
The Man of the Match quite comfortably on the night was Paul Pogba, who scored twice to help United to take control of their Europa League group, and it feels as though the Frenchman has finally arrived.
His link-up play with his teammates was brilliant, and the way he coolly opened the scoring with that perfect penalty was a joy to watch. The best was yet to come, though, and his goal in the second half sums his style of play up perfectly – and lets hope that display was the first of many top class ones.
It was a massive confidence booster for the 23-year-old, and with some big games on the horizon, it provides him with a chance to kick on from here and show the Premier League just how capable of a player he is.
