It’s beginning to feel a lot like deja vu at the moment for Manchester United. Jose Mourinho’s men seem to play some excellent football for large portions of the game, but switch off at the worst possible moment which eventually leads to points dropped. That was the case again today at Goodison Park.
Today’s culprit was Marouane Fellaini. He was summoned by Jose to sure things up as the game drew to a close, but instead, he decided to go in clumsily and concede a late penalty; one which Leighton Baines duly converted to help the Toffees to a late point.
At the time, it seemed a sensible decision to stick Fellaini on to try and deal with the high balls thrown into our box, but it was a critical error on the part of the midfielder, and Manchester United’s poor run continues…
As you’d imagine, the Manchester United fans were all over social media discussing their opinions and thoughts. Some were less than friendly towards Marouane Fellaini, whereas smaller sections of the fanbase think that he isn’t solely to blame.
Check out some of the tweets aimed at Fellaini here:
Blame Fellaini all you want, he is an easy target, the real reason is we sat back for the last 20 and let a mediocre team back into the game

I cannot understand why he even gets a sniff on the bench, he's been the catalyst of our impending downfall for the last 3 years #Fellaini

Fellaini is a liability & should never be brought on when 2-0 ahead let alone 1-0! He's a walking bomb
