Manchester United’s trip to Bern to take on Young Boys was all-but over after 45 minutes.
Paul Pogba delightfully opened the scoring with a fantastic effort with his left-foot, before doubling the visitors’ lead with a coolly taken penalty. He wasn’t done there, though. Just before being substituted midway through the second half, he tacked on an assist to his countryman, Anthony Martial.
It was a quality outing from the much-maligned midfielder. It does leave us questioning why he cannot play like this every week.
The marauding runs, quick-feet, excellent passing and deft finishing. He was the star of the show as Pogba continues to show the footballing world just how good he can become.
For United, winning the three points was all that counts, but having their star man back playing at a supremely high level is absolutely key to any trophy aspirations they have.
Jose Mourinho was afforded the luxury of being able to give Pogba some rest as the game was already won Now, he’ll be feeling much fresher come 15:00 BST on Saturday when United host a Wolverhampton Wanderers side who have been playing wonderfully well recently.
