Manchester United Football Club are currently trailing Wolfsburg 2-1 at half-time, with Louis van Gaal’s side probably feeling infuriated going into the break – due to an absolutely abysmal call from the officiating team.
Jesse Lingard had seemingly curled the ball into the back of the net, and after the players had been celebrating the goal, a ridiculously late flag from the linesman was put up – straight after he was confronted by a pair of Wolfsburg players.
They were appealing for an offside decision against Juan Mata, who didn’t even touch the ball. It looks as though the Wolfsburg defenders certainly influenced the decision of the linesman, and its absolutely disgraceful on UEFA’s part, as this could see us dumped out of the Champions League.

It appears there's a new rule where a team ask the ref to disallow a goal. Poor decision, took an absolute age #bbcfootball #ChampionsLeague

Never seen a ref have to convince a linesman to disallow a goal? Bizarre. Latest flag I've ever seen I think. #WOLvMUFC #MUFC

My nerves are shredded, the emotion when that equaliser went in to then see the linesman disallow it 20 minutes later has killed my optimism

What a weak linesman – he needs to reread offside rules! Poor Lingard.
