Manchester United flop could be targeted by Liverpool for summer transfer

Manchester United Football Club spent a huge amount of money to bring Memphis Depay in last summer, with the 21-year old certainly getting the United fans excited. However his performances haven’t been anywhere near up to standard, and he could well be on the way out already.

According to the Daily Mirror, Louis van Gaal has lost his patience with Depay, and now the Daily Star add that Liverpool could well be interested in bringing in the Dutch winger this summer.

At times this season, Depay’s attitude off the field has come into question, and his on-field performances of late really haven’t been anything to shout about. He looks bereft of confidence, and although he clearly has all of the talent in the world, a move away may be in the best interests of all involved.

It would allow Depay to try and rediscover his form and Manchester United would recoup some of the £25million they paid for him. However I highly doubt that the club would allow him to leave for Liverpool due to the intense rivalry between the sides.
