Manchester United’s U21 side play their first game in over a month tonight, as they take on Norwich away. One man who has been sidelined for quite some time is expected to make his return – with Nick Powell in line for his first minutes of football since suffering another long-term injury.
It has been a real shame for Nick Powell. He started his Manchester United career like a house on fire, scoring on his debut before being given his Champions League bow away at Galatasaray, and scoring in that match too.
Since then injuries have plagued him over the last three years and he has rarely been involved at any level.
Lets hope the worst of these injuries are now behind him, and he can concentrate on getting himself fully fit and making his mark on the senior squad once again.
The current setup at U21 level seems to be a joke. Our youth team haven’t played in over a month which is just ridiculous if the FA want these players to progress for both club and country. Hopefully this gets sorted soon.
