Manchester United get huge Champions League injury boost: report

Manchester United Football Club is set to receive a huge injury boost, with Eric Bailly hoping to return in time for the Red Devils’ Champions League clash against Sevilla.

That’s according to ESPN per The Sun, who adds that the Ivorian had to undergo surgery on his ankle, but it’s expected he’ll recover in time to take part in the last sixteen.

Bailly, 23, was comfortably our best defender during his debut campaign, but his second season at Old Trafford has been injury-hit which has seriously hampered his development.

Sevilla are an excellent team who’ll give anyone a test over a two-legged tie, and United will need all their stars playing at the top of their game if they want to progress – Bailly, when fit, is the first defender on the team-sheet so here is to hoping that he’ll be 100% fit by February 21st.

My main concern is in regards to rushing him back. I wouldn’t want the club to speed things up just so he can play in this fixture, which would obviously risk re-injuring the injured ankle meaning he could be sidelined for longer.
