Manchester United’s Ashley Young is optimistic that he’ll be fit to take on Ashley Young on Saturday, according to the Manchester Evening News.
The make-shift left-back picked up an injury late on during England’s game against Italy on Tuesday evening, giving Jose Mourinho a potential headache before the Premier League resumes this weekend.
Although it is thought that Young’s knee is sore, the problem cannot be too serious if he’s already thinking about getting back out on the field which is a huge boost.
For whatever reason, Young has been heavily preferred to Luke Shaw this term, and if he’s Mourinho’s number one choice, then having him fit and ready to go for the run-in is absolutely crucial.
We’ve seen how good he can be on his day, heck, some say Mo Salah is still running around in his pocket somewhere. Here’s to hoping that Young will do a similar job when it comes to the FA Cup semi-final, because that’s going to be an extremely tough fixture and we’ll need everyone at their best.
