Manchester United Football Club have been given hope in the race to sign AS Monaco’s brilliant holding midfielder, Tiemoue Bakayoko. That’s according to the Manchester Evening News in an exclusive, who say that the player hasn’t agreed anything concrete with our Premier League rivals, Chelsea.
The 22-year-old burst onto the scene this season, putting in some truly sensational performances – most notably in the Champions League against our fiercest of foes in the form of Manchester City.
Bakayoko is thought to be ‘calm and happy’ about the situation and is enjoying with life at AS Monaco. When you couple that with reports from a couple of months ago from the Manchester Evening News, that claimed he is interested in a move to Old Trafford, that’s definitely intriguing.
I wouldn’t say we have that out-and-out holding midfielder, and Bakayoko would fit that bill down to a tee. One of his biggest selling points is without a doubt his mobility. Outside of Paul Pogba and Ander Herrera, the rest of our players in that area of the field just don’t run with the ball and in the modern day game that is a huge factor.
Obviously, there is no deal in place at this point in time but the fact that he hasn’t agreed personal terms with any other club still gives us hope. If the manager is looking at bringing in a new player in that position, then Bakayoko simply has to be considered an option.
