Manchester United made a bold move to bring Victor Valdes to Old Trafford back in January, with the Spaniard signing on a free transfer after being released by FC Barcelona in the summer previous.
Since then, Valdes has only made one Premier League start for the club, and after a rift with Louis van Gaal he has found himself out of favour, and probably fourth choice.
He has been exiled from the first-team squad, and completely forgotten about by the gaffer. The club even tried to get rid of him in the summer, but unsuccessfully so as Besiktas decided to pull out of a move.
Now it looks as though a move away could be back on the cards, as the shot-stopper looks close to be joining Espanyol on a free transfer, according to the usually reliable Goal UK.
