Manchester United handed boost as defender FIT for Southampton clash

Manchester United have been given a timely boost, as Luke Shaw’s ankle injury isn’t as bad as first-feared, and the England international should be fit enough to take on his former club this weekend. There were concerns as the youngster hobbled off at half-time in United’s 2-0 victory over Yeovil.

Many [myself included] thought that Shaw’s ankle was fast becoming problematic, but The Guardian say that United ‘expect’ him to be fully fit to play this weekend. The 19-year old had previously been missing for around four weeks with an injury to the same ankle, which raised concern.

Shaw is key to the future of this club, and the £27million fee Manchester United dished out to bring him here just shows how confident they are in his ability.

Hopefully Shaw can now get a good run of games in the side, and stay fit from now until the end of the season and start to make a real name for himself in the famous Manchester United strip.
