Manchester United could have just secured one of the best transfer moves of the summer – despite not actually signing anyone. Real Madrid have admitted defeat in their pursuit of David de Gea, according to the Spanish media outlet Marca.
We all know what happen twelve months ago when Real Madrid came ever so close to landing David de Gea, but thanks to a dodgy fax machine, Louis van Gaal managed to keep hold of the Spaniard.
Now one year on and a new long-term contract later, Manchester United are set to keep hold of one of the best goalkeeper’s on the planet for at least one more term.
Madrid president Florentino Perez has given up on signing the 25-year old, as Zinedine Zidane is more than happy with the performances of Keylor Navas.
How different it could have been. The deal on the table last summer was one to bring Keylor Navas to United with De Gea going the other way. Thankfully the proposed move didn’t go through, and we’re lucky enough to witness the former Atletico keeper once again.
