Manchester United Football Club have progressed safely through to the fourth round of the EFL Trophy, after overcoming a stubborn Northampton Town side. The game finished 3-1, but the biggest talking point came after the final whistle as the draw for the next stage was made.
Manchester United have been handed a home draw; against Manchester City. The two sides met just a fortnight ago as City got the better of us and managed to beat us 2-1, but you saw just how much the hosts got back into it as the game went on.
This gives the players a chance to extract some revenge after a result that was obviously so tough to take, but at this point in time, it looks a hard ask.
The fixtures around the derby don’t look all that appetising either. During the month of October, we’ll play Liverpool, Chelsea, Fenerbahce and now Manchester City. It could certainly prove to be a make or break month for our new manager Jose Mourinho.
