Manchester United handed major injury blow ahead of West Ham clash

Manchester United take on West Ham tomorrow, with Louis van Gaal’s side looking to get back to winning ways after a disappointing all-round performance last time out against Leicester City. However, the Iron Tulip’s job  has been made much harder, with a massive injury blow.

The Dutchman met the media today, and confirmed that the club captain Wayne Rooney will miss the game as he picked up an injury during the week.

“Rooney’s injury is a nasty one. We have to let him train to make the ankle stronger, that’s very important.” Van Gaal began.  “I cannot say how long he’s out for as the doctor shall decide that of course. He is training well in the rehabilitation.”

It doesn’t sound at all good for Rooney, and Van Gaal sounded extremely disappointed after losing him, but honestly it might not be the worst thing in the world.

It will show Louis van Gaal a side without Wayne Rooney in, and also it’ll spur the captain on, and will him to force his way back into the starting line-up.
