Manchester United Football Club will be looking to get back to winning ways this weekend, following a three game streak without taking all three points in both the Premier League and Champions League. That task has been made slightly easier, with one key figure set to return.
The Manchester Evening News say that club captain Wayne Rooney has significantly stepped up his return from injury, and could face Norwich this weekend.
Rooney has missed the last few games after picking up an ankle problem midway through the second half of the 1-1 draw at Leicester City, and perhaps the time on the sidelines will do him some good, as his performances up until this point haven’t been anywhere near good enough.
Whether or not Louis van Gaal will throw him straight back into the mix remains to be seen, but the side need all the help they can get at the moment, and now is the time for Wayne Rooney to step up to the mark.
