Manchester United have failed with an approach for unsettled forward

Manchester United are clearly trying to bolster their options in January, with Louis van Gaal keen to bring in new faces to mount some form of title challenge. One man they have been pursuing is Sadio Mane of Southampton, but those approaches have failed, according to the Daily Mail.

The 23-year old had a superb first half of the season, and has been at the heart of everything good for the South Coast side, hence why so many of the so called bigger clubs are in for his signature. However it looks as though he will be staying put until the summer.

Mane himself is thought to be relaxed about the whole situation, and is prepared to remain grounded, as he knows that he’ll have a whole host of attractive propositions put to him over the summer, when plenty of clubs will no doubt be in for his signature.
