Manchester United have made an offer for Dortmund star – report

Manchester United spent huge money in the summer as a bid to return to one of the European elite clubs began, with Louis van Gaal masterminding signings such as Angel di Maria, Radamel Falcao & Luke Shaw. The Iron Tulip is set to go again this summer, but signings could be made as early as January.

Yesterday The Telegraph claimed that Mats Hummels was to be subject of a bid by United, and that news has been backed up by the Italian journalist Gianluigi Longari – who claimed that a bid has now been made to Borussia Dortmund for the player.

Hummels would be the signing of dreams for most Manchester United fans. There aren’t many other realistic signings who have his level of experience and skill, and when fit, he is without doubt up there with the best in the world in his position.

With Borussia Dortmund’s form of late, he could well be swayed to leave the German side in favour of a move to the Premier League if enough money is thrown his way, and it’d be a huge boost if Ed Woodward and company could make that happen before the window slams shut in February.
