Manchester United fans all over the world have been dealt a gutting blow, as according to Sky Sports News, the Old Trafford club have no intention of bringing the highly-rated centre-back Nicolas Otamendi to the club this summer.
Otamendi, 27, had a fantastic season with Valencia last year, as he grew his reputation and stature on the world stage tremendously, meaning a shoe host of top clubs have been linked with signing him.
This comes as a huge disappointment, Manchester United desperately need a proven centre-half if they are to challenge for the title this season, and as we get ever closer to the deadline, it looks as though we’re going into the campaign with Daley Blind and Chris Smalling as our first choice pairing.
Whether this is down to a lack of realistic and available targets, or whether Van Gaal feels confident in the current squads’ ability remains to be seen, but I guess we’ll find out.

This news reminds me to the year we missed out for Didier Drogba from Marseille in 2004. We didn’t think he was worth it so Chelsea stole him away and won back to back title we won nothing! History is going to repeat itself! City will buy him and will dominate this season. Absolutely gutted with his! Blind is not a centre half good enough Louis ?
Ed Woodward or LVG think blind is better cb?
This guy is solid, we wont win.the league with blind at cb or rojo!
Sign.him or stones, sign Pedro, ffs
Get rid of de gea Valdes and lindegaard
