Manchester United have submitted a firm cash offer for Wolfsburg winger, Julian Draxler. That’s according to Transfer Market Web, who say that the 22-year-old is high on Jose Mourinho’s wishlist, but it won’t be easy to land him this summer.
Draxler only signed for Wolfsburg last summer and he obviously has plenty of time remaining on his current contract which makes the move all the more complex.
United would have to pay through the roof to tempt Wolfsburg to sell one of their prized assets this summer, with TMW adding that it’d take at least £38.5million to get the Bundesliga side interested.
This seems like a massive gamble, but Draxler does have sky-high potential. He also has the ability to play all across the front three which will be a tempting prospect for Jose Mourinho.
Personally, I’d like to see someone with a bit more pace come into the fold, though, and a move for someone like Henrikh Mkhitaryan makes much more sense.
