You thought the Arturo Vidal saga was over – you were wrong. According to Italian media outlet Tuttosport, Manchester United are plotting a move for the 27-year old Chilean in the winter transfer window. Whilst concerns were raised about the condition of his knee, the board have decided that more toughness is needed in the middle of the park.
It is believed that it is a risk Manchester United are willing to take if he can prove his fitness over the next few months. He’d also be cheaper due to another six months of his contract having been run down.
However it would be difficult to lure Vidal away from Turin in the middle of the season, due to it being difficult to sort out a replacement. Who knows, if Juventus are still in European action come the turn of the year, Vidal might not even want to leave…
Honestly I can’t see this being true. United had all summer to weigh up a move for Vidal and obviously decided against it and moving for other targets instead. Maybe United were just priced out of a move, or maybe they are really concerned about his ongoing knee problems…
