Manchester United could well be in the hunt for a new manager at the end of this season, but that largely depends on whether the club can finish the season strongly – and Louis van Gaal can prove to the board that he deserves more time.
Ahead of that decision being taken, Teddy Sheringham has had his say on Jose Mourinho, and claims the Portuguese manager believes that he deserves the United job.
“Jose Mourinho has the belief that he deserves to be Manchester United manager and that’s a big part of the job.” Sheringham said.
This was before going on to big up Jose Mourinho as a manager. However Sheringham was quick to leap to the defence of current boss Louis van Gaal, saying that only David de Gea has been playing to his full potential for the majority of the current campaign – and you find it hard to disagree with him.
At the end of the day, when Van Gaal leaves Old Trafford, Jose Mourinho is always going to be under consideration for the job that he has craved since day one, and thats an inevitability under any situation.
