Manchester United Football Club could be about to turn their attentions towards the signature of Alexandre Lacazette. The French striker, who currently plies his trade for Lyon, is in talks with the Old Trafford club about the possibility of a move. That’s according to L’Equipe, as per The Sun.
With that said, Arsenal still lead the chase to sign the forward, with his current club after around £50million to let him leave over the summer. The report claims that United are edging closer to a move for Alvaro Morata, but the club have been speaking to Lacazette’s representatives too.
This is certainly interesting. Do we have space for two new strikers in the squad? In my opinion, no. Jose Mourinho teams tend to play with just the one striker, and if we secure Morata, we’d have the Spaniard as well as both Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.
I like Lacazette and I think he’s a brilliant striker, but he plays a very similar style of football to that of Martial and it’s not a move that makes all that much sense in my opinion. He’d cost a lot of money, and I’d much prefer the club to try and bring in something different – to give us that extra dimension.
