Manchester United are in talks to sign Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez this summer, according to reports coming out of Spain. Don Balon say that United representatives have been in talks with his agent, Jorge Mendes, to see if they stand a chance to land the Columbian.
The 24-year old has grown in frustrations out in Spain due to being in and out of the team, and Real Madrid themselves are resigned to losing their star man as its best for all parties involved in the deal.
Madrid are after nothing less than £60million for the attacking midfielder who set the World Cup alight a couple of years ago, which could turn out to be quite the bargain if he performs to his capabilities.
There would be fierce competition for his signature too, with big spending Paris Saint-Germain, and Italian giants Juventus also keen. However with the pulling power Manchester United have, they should be right at the front of the queue to land him – especially when you factor in that we don’t have a top class #10 in the side at the moment.
