Manchester United get their Europa League campaign underway this time next week, as Louis van Gaal will be looking to make amends for the shocking Champions League exit. Ahead of the game, there have been a few surprises in their squad for the competition.
Joel Pereira, Andreas Pereira, McNair, Borthwick-Jackson, Tuanzebe, Donald Love and Sean Goss have all been included in Manchester United’s Europa League B list squad, and all can play for the side at any time during the knockout stages of the tournament.
You’d imagine that its more of a precaution in case of any injuries rather than the majority of these guys getting serious minutes during the Europa League, as Louis van Gaal will probably take it more seriously as it now ensures a spot in the Champions League for the winner.
Personally I’d like to see a few of these faces get a run out every now and then, alongside some more senior figures in the squad giving a perfect blend of youth and experience.
