Manchester United have been installed as favourites to land the world class starlet, Andre Gomes. That’s according to the extremely reliable Italian journalist, Gianluca Di Marzio.
The 22-year old central midfielder currently plies his trade for CF Valencia out in the Liga BBVA, but has been turning heads across Europe due to excellent performances.
In his two years out in Spain, his displays have even warranted a spot in Portugal’s national team, and now he has five caps for his country.
Onto his style of play, and he’s a proper box-to-box midfielder which is something Manchester United have been lacking over the last few years.
He’d certainly bring some much-needed energy to the centre of the park too, and alongside a more experienced player like Bastian Schweinsteiger or Michael Carrick, he’d flourish.
In terms of a transfer fee he certainly wouldn’t come cheap. Valencia will be hoping to keep of one of their key players, and if they simply have to let him go they’ll demand as much money as possible.
