Manchester United have come in for some heavy criticism in terms of their defence this season, which is somewhat of a myth due to the excellent defensive records in comparison to City and Chelsea. An area where they have been struggling though, is scoring goals.
Accoring to the Daily Star, Manchester United could be trying to rectify that problem with the signing of Porto striker Jackson Martinez, who has been setting the Portuguese League alight with some excellent performances.
When quizzed about his future, Martinez said:
“Right now I only focus on doing my job with Porto, but I’m ready to make the leap in the next window.
“I have my head focused only on the work I’m doing at Porto at the moment and when the transfer window reopens, we shall see what will happen.”
This is pretty much a standard answer from someone who wants to let us all know that he is looking for a move away, without making his current employers upset. United would face competition for his signature, as the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool would all be in the hunt.
