Manchester United Football Club have shown an interest in England World Cup star, Harry Maguire.
That’s according to the Daily Telegraph, who add that Leicester City are preparing a new contract for the centre-half, to ward off any potential suitors following his excellent summer working under Gareth Southgate.
Apparently, the Red Devils have made inquiries about the 25-year-old, and what a signing he’d be for Jose Mourinho. Maguire epitomises English grit and determination, and having that at the heart of our back four would be wonderful. Not only is a great defender, he can also play a bit, too. At times, I’ve felt the likes of Eric Bailly and Marcos Rojo are just too quick to hoof it up the field; which can sometimes lead to more trouble.
Leicester, understandably, are doing all they can to keep ahold of Maguire, they’re offering him new terms of around £80,000-a-week to stay at the King Power. After losing Riyad Mahrez to Manchester City, they’ll be doing everything to ensure a second star doesn’t leave in the same window.
For United, I’d urge them to just pay whatever it takes to bring Maguire in. He’d massively improve the Red Devils’ overall outlook from the get-go, plus, he’ll be feeling hugely confident after the best month of his career out in Russia.
