Manchester United have shown an interest in signing AZ Alkmaar forward, Vincent Janssen, according to reports coming out of Holland. The 21-year old is having an excellent season in the Eredivisie having scored 26 league goals in 33 games so far this term.
The young man himself, often compared to former United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy, is clearly a big fan of the Old Trafford hero:
“He’s a big striker, I often watched him, I watched his movements. His goalscoring was unprecedented. How he completed for balls… Great! His runs, his speed, everything was together, he was a complete striker,” Janssen said.
Like always, there is a certain amount of risk involved when buying a player from Dutch football. We’ve successfully purchased the aforementioned Ruud van Nistelrooy, but sometimes it can go wrong like Memphis Depay thus far.
He clearly has the talent to stick the ball in the back of the net though, with an impressive scoring record this year. At just 21, he still has an awful lot of developing to do, and you can see why he is sought after by clubs like Manchester United.
He has already made an impression with the Dutch national team as well, having made two caps this year, scoring one goal.
