Manchester United Football Club lost their first game of the season over the weekend, as the derby sadly ended in defeat. That has seemingly prompted Jose Mourinho to take a look at some new faces in the transfer market, and a move for another star looms in January.
According to Calciomercato, Manchester United will make an approach to sign William Carvalho of Sporting Lisbon when the window opens in a few months time – as the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ has identified the midfield as an area that still needs work.
The 24-year-old had an impressive Euro 2016 with Portugal, and is making a real name for himself in his homeland, and you feel it is only a matter of time before he seals a move away.
He certainly won’t be cheap to the eventual buyer, though, and although it’d be a brilliant bit of business, Sporting Lisbon obviously won’t be keen on parting with one of their key assets in the middle of a domestic season – so that’d probably mean United would have to pay that little bit extra.
