Manchester United failed to make any major moves in the January transfer window that has just passed, with Louis van Gaal struggling to find any suitable players to bring in. However this summer is expected to be much different, and the planning has already begun.
According to the French media outlet L’Equipe, Manchester United are interested in signing Marseille’s Lassana Diarra. The 30-year old has certainly been around the block a few times, having had spells at Real Madrid, Portsmouth, Chelsea and plenty of others.
Manchester United were reportedly interested in signing him a few seasons ago, but that move never came to fruition. Now they are looking likely to renew that aforementioned interest in the box-to-box midfielder.
The club could certainly do much worse in terms of finding a replacement for someone like Michael Carrick, but the obvious worry would be his injury record.
