Manchester United’s January transfer window has been an extremely dull one, and as we near its conclusion, things at Old Trafford could finally be hotting up. According to the Manchester Evening News, United are ready to sign a right-back on a short-term loan deal.
There has been no player named in the article, but with a fairly lengthy injury to Matteo Darmian, as well as Ashley Young being out, it means we’re now reliant on the likes of Guillermo Varela and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson in the full-back positions.
Despite all their talents, they aren’t anywhere near developed enough to be playing for Manchester United week-in week-out, and if one of those goes down with an injury we’ll have to delve even further into our youth setup.
They definitely need some help, and a short-term move for someone full of experience like Dani Alves wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world.
