Manchester United made the move to bring in Matteo Darmian over the summer, in a deal worth £12million from Torino. The right-back made a fantastic start to his career, but it looks as though the club now want someone else in that area of the field.
According to TMW in Italy, United now want to bring in AS Roma’s Alessandro Florenzi who currently plies his trade as a right-back in the Serie A, but offers an option in midfield too.
The 25-year old has been one of the mainstays in Roma’s side since 2012, having also made an impression on the international stage for his native Italy as well.
His most attractive trait is without doubt that ability to play in numerous positions adequately, but in terms of a right-back you feel that Guillermo Varela certainly deserves the starting job for a prolonged period of time.
