Manchester United interested in signing West Ham man this summer

Manchester United chose to persist with their younger stars rather than spend any real kind of money in January, and up until this point the likes of Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Marcus Rashford are playing extremely well. However, that may not be the case come the summer.

Money will certainly be spent in the upcoming transfer window and targets will already be under the watchful eye of Louis van Gaal and his staff. One man thought to be of high priority is West Ham’s centre-back, Angelo Ogbonna.

The Italian made the move to the Boleyn Ground over the summer, and has made an excellent account of himself during his short spell in London. According to The Times, that has led to bigger clubs being interested in his signature, with Manchester United and City looking to bring in the 27-year old.

There is no doubt that Ogbonna would bring some much-needed experience to our back line, and over the long-term he could well be an excellent partner for Chris Smalling at the heart of defence.
