Manchester United could see somewhat of a mini-overhaul of the front line this summer, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic out injured for the long-term. There is also doubts about Wayne Rooney’s future at Old Trafford, so if he does end up leaving, we’d need to bring in two attackers.
Now, according to Miguel Delaney of The Independent, Jose Mourinho has identified a pair of players who he wants to bring in; and it’d be two huge signings if the club can pull them off. The players mentioned are Antoine Griezmann and Andrea Belotti, of Atletico Madrid and Torino respectively.
First up, let’s discuss Griezmann; a player that most football fans will have heard of. The 26-year-old has spearheaded that Atletico Madrid front line for a few years now, and scored goals galore. This season, the versatile attacker has an impressive 25-goal haul across all competitions, and his side are in the semi-finals of the Champions League after a two-legged victory over Leicester.
Now onto Belotti. He’s 23, but I’d say he isn’t known anywhere near as much, purely because this is the first season he has scored a lot of goals. The Italian has found the back of the net a massive 27 times for his club, and he’s even managed to grab himself a few caps for his country over the last twelve months.
Both of these guys would add an awful lot to the club if either was made. However, if I had to choose one, I’d opt for Griezmann every single time. He has been a proven world-class player for longer, and I feel he would add much more to our team due to his dynamism.
