Manchester United are thought to be keen on bringing Dutch centre-back Bruno Martins Indi to Old Trafford in January. The 22-year old was thought to be a target for Louis van Gaal back in the summer, but United didn’t push a move through for the young centre-back who previously worked with Van Gaal with the Dutch national side, so he moved to Porto instead.
Having been pretty impressive in his six months at Porto, Louis van Gaal now feels the time is right to move in for his man, according to The Sun. Martins Indi would certainly be a good addition, because right now the club needs all the defensive options they can get their hands on.
However I would have a concern about his age. We have enough young & talented centre-backs on our books, but right now we need a proven world class centre-half to come in and command from the back. I’d much prefer a Mats Hummels or Gerard Pique, someone who has been there and done it all.
