Manchester United have asked West Bromwich Albion to keep the Red Devils informed, regarding Jonny Evans’ potential transfer away from The Hawthorns, per The Metro.
Apparently, both City and Arsenal are showing an interest in the former United centre-half, with Jose Mourinho asking WBA to let him know if either of the aforementioned sides makes a move for Evans.
Back in 2015, then manager Louis van Gaal let the Northern Irishman leave for a mere £6million, and now it’s thought West Brom value him at somewhere around the £25million mark – four-times the amount that United let him go for just two-and-a-half years ago.
I was always a fan of Evans’ and more often than not he put in some excellent performances while at Old Trafford. However, at the time, it was certainly the correct decision to let him go.
Now though, the regular football at West Brom seems to have done him the world of good, and all credit to him for that. I’m just not sure that we should be going back in for him at this point in time, because it doesn’t cover United in glory, particularly so close after letting Paul Pogba go and spending almost £90million to bring him back…
