Manchester United key man admits he’d happily take pay cut if there was less business involved

Manchester United splashed an obscene amount of money to bring Juan Mata into Old Trafford over two years ago now, with the clever attacking midfielder going down a real threat with the fans from the get-go. However, Mata could have further endeared himself to the footballing world with his latest quotes.

Whilst speaking to the press, Mata revealed that he earns obscene amounts of money, and football is now becoming more and more expensive for the fans as a result.

Juan Mata told Spanish media outlet Salvados, quoted by the Daily Express, that he’d happily take a pay cut if there was less business involved in the sport we all love.

“I don’t enjoy the business side of football. I love the game. I love training and competing. I’d happily take a pay cut if there was less business involvement in the sport.

This is a genuine and honest answer from the loveable Spaniard, and its clear he just loves to play the game of football. Mata has that special connection with the fans that not many players do, and his willingness to learn about the club, its history and its traditions is why so many fans absolutely adore him.
